DeFi Pro Course Review
Straightforward content – No Fluffs!
The best part of the DeFi Pro course by Techlead is the straightforwardness of the course. However, it is not for the complete beginner. This course is targeted at people who already have some understanding of how cryptocurrency works.
After spending over 30 hours reviewing the course (PS: I took the course), I share my thoughts about the course in this article.
If you have been following the cryptocurrency space for a while, you’ll agree with me that there is a whole lot of information flying around.
Much more than you could cover topics-upon-topics, it is easy to get carried away by the flood of information on cryptocurrency, NFTs, and blockchains, and we have the metaverse too.
In addition to this, there are umpteen ways to make money with cryptocurrency like holding coins and tokens, trading coins, arbitrage, creating NFTs, mining, etc.
What is common in all these ways of making money off cryptocurrency is that they are risky.
If you are risk-averse, you will not be comfortable getting into crypto because of the risk in it.
The Defi Pro course by Techlead aims at teaching a less-risky way to make money from cryptocurrency through DeFi.
Let the DeFi Pro review start here!
Overview of DeFi Pro Course
Starting from beginning, DeFi is an acronym for Decentralized Finance and it is a big topic in the crypto space and also a way of making money with crypto.
According to Wikipedia, DeFi offers financial instruments without relying on intermediaries like brokerages.
DeFi uses smart contracts on the blockchain and it is popularly used on the Ethereum blockchain.
Techlead DeFi Pro Course aims at teaching you the required knowledge to make money with DeFi alongside the tools needed and how to keep the risk low.
DeFi Pro Course is rich in information and they are actionable information to help you get the ball rolling as quickly as possible.
Here is a quick highlight of what the DeFi Pro Course offers you:
- Rich and actionable information

Wondering who the instructor is or if he is worth listening to? Here’s a quick overview of the instructor.
About the Instructor – Tech lead Patrick Shyu
There is a high chance you already know Techlead or might have heard me mention him a few times in the introduction.
Techlead (Patrick Shyu) is an Ex-Facebook and Ex-Google software engineer and a Youtuber.
He is popularly known as a tech Youtuber sharing his experience as a software engineer, his personal affairs, and career tips for software engineers and aspiring ones.
Early last year Techlead started pivoting his youtube channel into cryptocurrency, sharing his thoughts on the cryptocurrency world and even launching his own token, Million Token.
Rich in the knowledge of how the blockchain works, Techlead has been able to grow his Million Token into a market cap of $10.7 million which is a huge success given that he single-handedly grew it.
Not only that, Techlead has also generated millions of dollars from cryptocurrency, and his technical videos on cryptocurrency show how deep he is in the crypto world.
So I can’t think of any better person to listen to if not someone with the combo (blockchain developer, software engineer, and crypto nerd).
Techlead is worth listening to!
Defi Pro Course Outline – What is in the Course?
Wondering what the course contains? I have taken the course and in this review, I’ll share what the course covers and why it might be the best DeFi course out there.
The course is broken into 15 video sessions which we’ll quickly run through to explain what is covered in each section.
#1 Introduction to DeFi
This is the first video session in the course. In this first session, Techlead welcomes everyone and introduces DeFi and what would be covered in the course. This is where you get access to join the Discord community which is the biggest asset you get when you buy the course.
#2 Introduction to Blockchain
In this session, Techlead introduces blockchain to beginners who don’t have a clear understanding of what a blockchain is and how it works. If you’re no newbie, you can skip this session and move to the next session.

This is a super-fast section where Techlead demonstrates the whole ecosystem of DeFi and where the profit comes from. It is more like an overview of how the DeFi crypto investment works and how to profit. The topics mentioned are well explained in the further sessions.

I love the idea of Liquidity pools as that has lesser risk. In this section, Patrick Shyu introduces the term liquidity pool and the role it plays in the crypto ecosystem.

Right in the course, Techlead set up an entire pool showing the step-by-step process.

Staking, farming, and syrup are three similar but different ways to make money with Defi. They are all very similar to the Liquidity pool but run differently.
In this section Tech lead (Patrick Shyu) breaks down what these terms mean and their financial significance in crypto. He also covers the networks and apps he uses for optimum profit.
#7 DeFi Apps
There are so many cryptocurrency apps on the internet and not every one of them is a fit for making money due to their charges, coins and tokens they support, and their integration with other apps.
Techlead takes it a step further here to share his favorite DeFi apps and tools he uses for the business. He shares the apps he uses to identify opportunities in the market.
#8 Risk Management
A very essential topic that scares a lot of people from investing in cryptocurrency. In the 8th section, Techlead addresses risk management – how to manage the risk and keep your portfolio healthy and growing.
The truth is that you can’t delete risk from the business equation not to talk of cryptocurrency and NFTs. But what you can do is to mitigate and manage your risk properly.
#9 Security Best Practices
Even though it is difficult or near impossible to hack the blockchain network, you as an investor still have the job of protecting your account.

In this section, Techlead shares security best practices to keep your account and investment safe.

At this junction, Techlead explains the greener pastures in DeFi. The most popular blockchain network is Ethereum which is now too competitive. Techlead gives a recommendation for bridges and multichain networks to use.

Cryptocurrency is a very volatile industry and it is changing rapidly. Opportunities are easily lost and you need the right information at the right time to make a profit.
